To Beautiful Young Ladies.?The Cincinnati Public Ledger thus discourses to the beautiful young ladies of his town: "Why," says'he, "is it that many of our most beautiful young ladies of this city, while walking in the street are in the habit of holding up their dresses with "both hands, as though they were going to catch something in their laps?a bad practice really, and should not be car ried to such an extent as it is, or cant they tind no other use for their hands while walking. Get a fan, or a small parcel of something, but let the dress alone, unless in crossing the street, or where there is mud, but we presume it is done for show; however, we'll ask our better half when we go home." His better half will tell him that he Las nothing to do with other ladies' dresses. Iron Walls.?We have been shown a miniature specimen of an iron wall, designed a3 a substitute for brick, in the const ruction of buildings?the inven tion of Jason L. Burdick, a practical builder, and an inventor of some repu tation. The pieces of iron employed are ingeniously shaped, so as to secure light ness with great strength, apparently, and the wall thus constructed may be easily taken in pieces and re erected, with com paratively little labor or expense.
